Awesome historic marquee signs can be found all over Oakland. Notably, the roof sign mounted on top of the Grand Lake Theatre is “…the largest rotary contact sign west of the Mississippi River. It consists of 2,800 colored bulbs and was designed by Theodore Wetteland.” If you’re in the neighborhood, you’ll typically find the sign brightly lit on Fridays and Saturdays until the last show of the night.
